Volunteering for trail work is a great way to learn about the trails and give back to your community. There’s a few ways you can get involved:

  • Public Volunteer Days: Public volunteer days are a chance to get to know other trail enthusiasts and lend a hand. Check our events page for upcoming dates.
  • Volunteer on a schedule that works for you–whether you’ve got 4 hours or 4 days, fill out this form, and our volunteer coordinator will be in touch.
  • Become a Trail Steward: Our trail stewards are committed and knowledgeable trail users who work with staff to consistently maintain the trails. Some stewards walk a nearby trail monthly, others take on maintenance tasks themselves. Our stewardship coordinator works with each steward to figure out a schedule that works best for them. If interested–select Trail Steward on this form.
  • Corporate Volunteers/Groups: Interested in bringing your office, class, or team out on the trails? A day of trail work is a great opportunity for team building and connects your group with the Portland community and local trails. Contact Daniel, daniel@trails.org
