Tell your friends we have opportunities for volunteers on race day 12/08! If you’re bringing a spectator, they can help out while you’re running!
*We strongly recommend picking up your packet on Saturday if possible. Skip the crowds!
The Course (click for course map)
Runners assemble on the Eastern Promenade Trail between Ocean Gateway and the Maine Narrow Gauge Railroad. The course heads down the trail toward Back Cove and turns around at the intersection of the Eastern Promenade Trail, Back Cove Trail, Bayside Trail & Loring Memorial Steps. All runners must be 21 years or older. No strollers or dogs allowed on the race course.
Start and finish lines: On the Eastern Promenade Trail in front of the Narrow Gauge Railroad. We will start promptly at 11:00am.
Bib Transfer: You may transfer your bib until Thursday, December 5th at noon.
Bathrooms: RiRa Irish Pub provides bathrooms.
Water: Water stop at the half-way point, located at the intersection of the Eastern Promenade Trail, Back Cove Trail, Bayside Trail & Loring Memorial Stairs. Bottled water will be available at the finish line
Parking: Free street parking can be found near the race start. There is also parking in the Casco Bay Garage, 56 Commercial Street (this garage is paid parking only). There is no parking allowed in the dirt lots near the race start. We encourage local folks to walk, run, bus, or bike downtown!
Race beanies: All runners receive a complimentary Holiday Dash winter hat! Fun, festive, and very useful. One size fits all!
Timing and Results: Timing by Split Time Race Management
Awards: Awards will be given to the top 3 overall male and female finishers, and the top Portland Trails member, male and female.

All racers get 1 beverage ticket and access to buffet brunch at RiRa Irish Pub. Make sure you have your ID if you want to drink. We can check it before or after the race at the pub. Show your race bib for brunch. Your drink ticket will get you one beverage from one of the beer sponsors.
Spectators are allowed in to RiRa Irish Pub (if fire capacity has not been reached). The brunch buffet is included in the race fees for RUNNERS. If spectators want to eat or drink, they can order from the restaurant menu OR they can purchase a brunch buffet ticket from RiRa in person ($15).
Toy donation: We will be collecting new, unwrapped toys at RiRa to donate to the Ronald McDonald House. You can see their holiday wishlist here. Please note that we can no longer provide a drink ticket in exchange for a donated toy (per the State Liquor License Inspector). But we encourage your holiday spirit and generosity all the same!
