South Portland Greenbelt Walkway 5.7
miles
The City of South Portland built this
paved bicycle and pedestrian path that
connects South Portland parks and neighborhoods
from the Wainwright Recreation Complex
to Bug Light Park and the Spring Point
Shoreway. The Greenbelt is also the northern
terminus of the Eastern Trail that will
eventually connect south all the way
to Kittery , and is part of the East
Coast Greenway. During summer months
public toilets are available at Bug Light
and Willard Beach.
The trail passes through the Mill Creek
shopping district and residential areas.
At the intersection of Madison Street
and Breakwater Drive the trail divides,
leading to Bug Light Park or along the
shoreline where it forms the Spring Point
Shoreway Trail.
Trail access:
Parking is available at
Bug Light Park, in the Mill Creek shopping
center, and the Wainwright Recreation
Complex, which can be reached via the
Gary Maietta Parkway off Highland Avenue.
