Appalachian
Mountain Club and Maine
Chapter of the AMC
The Appalachian
Mountain Club promotes
the protection, enjoyment,
and wise use of the mountains,
rivers and trails of the
Northeast. We believe that
the mountains and rives
have an intrinsic worth
and also provide recreational
opportunity, spiritual
renewal, and ecological
and economic health for
the region. We encourage
people to enjoy and appreciate
the natural world because
we believe that successful
conservation depends on
this experience.
Appalachian
Trail Conference
We are responsible since 1925 for coordinating the volunteer-based
development, protection, and management of the Appalachian
Trail - from Maine to Georgia. Our aim is to provide
you with a wealth of information about the trail and
those who take care of it. We've now organized most of
this by state - features, changing trail conditions,
regulations, and tips for a more enjoyable hike. The
A.T. State by State section is the place to find lots
of information about what could become your favorite
hike on the Appalachian Trail.

bicyclists like you supporting
our work -- the more
cyclists that join the
BCM, the more effective
we will be in making
Maine a better place
to bicycle.
